Our research in evolutionary biology examines the natural processes by which organisms adapt to the environment around them. We use genomic tools to identify the relationships between extant species, the historic processes that have led to the distribution of species among habitats, and the selective pressures currently shaping their form and function. We have strong links with the Western Australian Museum and our staff include Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science. The UWA Centre for Evolutionary Biology within the School of Biological Sciences delivers excellence in research and research training in evolutionary biology.
