Ecological Applications
The University of Western Australia is internationally renowned for its research and training excellence in understanding how ecosystems function, the processes that lead to the degradation of ecosystems and the mechanisms by which they can be conserved and restored, including in relation to changing climate and environmental conditions. Ecological Applications research is conducted in the Schools of Biological Sciences and Agriculture and Environment. We host the Reintroductions and Refugia and the Using Social and Economic Opportunities for Threatened Species Recovery themes of the National Environmental Science Program, the West Australian Biogeochemistry Centre and the UWA Future Farm 2050 Project. We have strong research partnerships with industry partners, the CSIRO, and research partnerships at local through to international levels to better tackle global ecological issues.
